3 Easy Ways to Hide Stretch Marks

Of all the skin imperfections that one could have, one of the most hated – especially by women – is stretch marks. There are a few dermatologic and surgical solutions to eradicate this problem today. However, even some of the experts in dermatologic care admit that it is not effective for all. And then there’s the issue of cost. These amazing solutions are so expensive, only the immensely rich ones can actually afford those.

For the rest of us women with regular 9 to 5 jobs and just enough money to feed ourselves and our families, it is hard to spend thousands of dollars per session with a cosmetic expert who will zap our stretch marks miraculously away. For the rest of us women, the best thing to do is to slowly save enough money for those cosmetic solutions. In the meantime, what we could do is to hide these imperfections. And here are some of the best ways to do it:

The Concealer Trick

These marks are often seen on the abdomen, hips and the buttocks. This is relatively alright since these areas are often hidden inside clothes. However, there are some people who have these on more noticeable areas like the arms and the legs. If the latter is the case, covering the affected area with a make-up concealer would be the best thing you could do. The first thing to check out is the color of the stretch marks. Fresh ones are colored red and old ones are often greyish to white. But that doesn’t matter when choosing the right color of the concealer as long as it matches your complexion. Waterproof concealer is the best. And it is better to exfoliate first before application so that it is smooth and even. The only downside to this is that this is a very temporary solution. You would have to do it every single day – or whenever you need to go out.

Tanning Solutions

If you want something a bit more temporary than concealers, try using a self-tanner. This can cover those hideous marks for three months or so – as long as the application was done properly. In this regard, it would be better to spend a bit more on professional airbrush specialists than those DIY lotions. To maintain the color, upkeep is important. Do it a week or two before the scheduled tanning session so that you won’t have to worry about your stretch marks getting seen.

Good Fashion Works Too

Wearing clothes which flatter you would be a great idea as well. You don’t really need to show a lot of skin every single day anyway. If your buttocks and legs are less than perfect, try to veer away from really short shorts. During summer, it’s best to wear shorts and skirts which will cover those well. If you have those unsightly lines behind your knees, try wearing tight capris or leggings. It would show off the nice shape of your legs but not the marks.

All three mentioned above are very simple ways on how to cover your stretch marks so you might want to give those a try as soon as possible.
